The fastest home staging ever!

2016-03-05T19:52:03+00:00

This home staging project was completed at top speed - before a potential buyer came back for their second visit!  My Consultation was arranged for a Thursday afternoon, and during the session, I discovered that a potential buyer had already seen the house, and had a second viewing booked for the following week - but she had commented on several occasions that the house was dark.  Well, that sounded like a challenge to me - especially as I agreed with her.  So, [...]

One-day Home Staging in Brocton, Staffordshire

2013-11-07T15:40:54+00:00

This one-day home staging project was initiated by an Estate Agent - John German in Staffordshire. They needed good photographs of a lovely house for sale in Brocton, and were delighted with the results: "Thank you for your very pleasant and prompt service, I know our clients were most impressed." Paul Barnes.   And the homeowners commented "Many thanks for today, it was lovely to meet you and I have really enjoyed watching an ‘expert’ in action. The photos are fabulous."  They [...]

Home Staging in Bedworth, Coventry. A modern 3 bed house with a mixed colour scheme.

2013-10-17T18:01:59+00:00

Home staging in Bedworth. This house was modern, with none of the usual clutter or DIY issues that I have come to expect in a home with a young child and working parents. The homeowners called me for help as they needed to obtain the highest possible price for it, so that they could purchase their dream home. They didn't feel they could "finish it off" to the high standard they knew was required. During my consultation, I realised the colour scheme [...]

One day home staging in Worcester, an Old Coach House

2013-10-17T18:02:09+00:00

Home staging in Worcester. This house had already been on the market for a few months, and was getting many hits on the estate agent's website (much higher than average), but no viewings. One of the reasons was obvious. The interior photos had been taken by a professional photographer, who had chosen three rooms, moved everything out apart from a few essential pieces of furniture, and then added so much light to the photos that the rooms looked like they belonged in a [...]

Home makeover tip. Increase Value.

2013-09-25T21:22:52+00:00

Will your home makeover increase the value of your home? How important is it that the home makeover increases the value of your house? This always needs to be considered, even if you don’t plan to move for a while. Unforseen circumstances could force you to sell your house unexpectedly, so to make changes to it that may devalue it can never be a good idea Structural alterations such as extensions and loft or basement conversions will usually add value [...]

Home makeover tip. Colour schemes.

2013-09-26T09:17:12+00:00

COLOUR SCHEMES -could you work with some of the existing colours in the house or should you change them? • Check all the existing colours in your house. Include tiles, floor coverings etc. If you add a new colour, will it work with all of these or would you have to change them? • Completely changing the colour scheme in a house can be very costly, especially if flooring, tiles and window decorations are involved. • Don’t mix two different colour [...]

Get the bedroom colours right

2013-09-23T14:33:56+00:00

This house needed to be prepared for sale, but the bedroom colours were wrong. All the curtains in the house were made from one fabric, which was a golden colour. Similarly, the carpets were golden. There was no reason to change these expensive items, so this set the scheme for the entire house. Some of the grey-based purple paint in a couple of rooms clashed with the gold, so I recommended re-painting the bedroom and hallway. It's vital that the colour scheme flows through the house. The [...]

Plans from California…

2013-09-23T14:36:05+00:00

The plans for this property came from California.  The high ceilings, large windows, spacious rooms are just lovely.  I was only called in to take the photos, but of course, couldn't resist changing a few things round. In my next blog entry, I will put the photos of the rooms as they were when I arrived that day, so you can see what I changed, and why.
