Declutter a complete room once in a while. You know that feeling you get when you’ve sorted your sock drawer? It’s like that only ten times more intense!
These photographs show various small projects that benefited from our decluttering services. It’s not just the surface clutter that was removed, all cupboards and drawers were emptied and re-organised too. That’s the trick – just trying to tidy the surfaces causes more problems if the drawers and cupboards are already full.
Here are some examples:
This house above had just not been using their potential storage properly – they had a great attic space but weren’t using it. Once we had set it out with some shelving, most of the long-term storage items could be organised here, leaving everything they needed in the rest of the house. Here is their ‘new’ study:
One more point to make about the above declutter project, they were busy people, so their food shopping was ordered online and delivered. But so often they just pressed “repeat” and had the same order delivered to them every week – including numerous cleaning products that you might normally order once every couple of months. So there was an enormous build-up of cleaning products etc causing this problem in the utility room.
Here are some other houses:
The homeowner of the above house completed the declutter herself, following just one consultation.
The above idea is often a good solution to a cluttered house. If you need to declutter, but are short of storage in every room and can’t see where you can add extra pieces, sometimes adding one large bank of storage in one room is the only answer.
My client loved the ideas. She said “Many many thanks Lynn for your visits. You have given me
lots of useful ideas, and worked very hard to help me transform my home into the
beautiful and restful place I have dreamed of for so many years.”
