Home Makeover in Stoke.
This practical home-owner had the ability to make any changes that were required – she just didn’t know WHAT was required! We had great fun working together, with some effective results.
The main problem was the colour scheme throughout the ground floor. Pink had been added to black and grey, and all the design rules had been followed (spashes of the accent colour in the curtains, cushions and accessories etc) but what she had failed to take into account was the golden colour of the wallpaper. It’s a common mistake. Lots of people plan a house makeover and change the colour scheme, but just ignore something they can’t afford to change, and forget that that item has to be a part of the colour scheme, or it simply won’t work. Examples such as coloured tiles – even just a single row- I see lots of times where this colour has been ignored, then clashes with the new colour scheme. Or coloured glass decorations in window panels – they add a splash of strong colour to a room, yet so many people ignore them in their scheme. Or carpets – even beige carpets come in hundreds of tones – some are yellow based, some are pink etc and this is often ignored in a house makeover, which can cause huge problems.
This was the second time I have worked with my client – I helped to stage her previous home which sold really quickly. She “can’t understand why for the sake of a few hundred quid people don’t use the service before they go on the market, its crazy not to!!!”

All we did here was swop the pink for mustard colours – that’s all, nothing else! The dining room was the same:
