Home Staging by the coast

Everyone imagines it is easy to stage a home by the sea – simply fill it with blue beach colours, shells, driftwood and pictures of the water. But that isn’t automatically right for every house.  We need to consider the style and age of the house, and who we imagine might purchase the house and why.  A little modern holiday home can be filled with the above, but a larger, older home with character like this one requires a different approach.

We allowed a few subtle concessions to the sea – few pictures, a sailing boat in the bathroom, a beach-themed cushion and even a collection of colourful buckets, spades and windmills in a small single bedroom – just as a reminder. But then we just took the house and freshened it – let the light in – made it feel spacious again. The Estate Agents were delighted with the result.
